No one's mentioned W/Me, which makes a great caster killer in PvP. I especially enjoy delivering blackout, backfire and diversion.

I have no idea which is the best combo, but I have just made a W/R and it is a fair bit of fun - not easy to play, but fun nonetheless. And for me, that's all that matters>

my first character was a w/e with lot's of earth protection skills, but when i tried using fire magic i kept unning out of energy, and they take a long time to cast, which you could do more damage in combat than using the magic

Not so true, I use to be a W/Mo using healing and tactics, then
I switch to W/E. I dont have anymore healing, BUT I also dont
need it. When I use Armor of Frost, Armor of Mist and Watch
Yourself all at once + my regular armor, my total armor becomes
179 total ( my regular armor is 85 ), I also use Gladiator's defence
to block most of the hits anyways, ( 75% blocking + deal dmg ).
All in all, I dont ever need to heal. ( best to have water magic and
tactics max out for it to work best. )

Earth gives you far more armor: Armor of earth + obsidian flesh gives you + 70 armor, makes you immune to targeted spells, and the armor is general armor, not physical. More importantly, without chillblains or nature's renewal, your armor is unstrippable.

Regardless, W/N is the new up and comer. A Hammer warrior dealing heavy dmg with the ability to drop lingering curse? ultimate caller.

For PvP:
If you do take elementalist, do not go for stupid meteor shower spells, firestorm, etc. If you are going to take elementalist, and do PvP, basically your only powerful option is a hammer warrior with aftershock.
And if you are taking monk, I hope that you aren't using mending or self-heals on yourself in PvP..because guess what? Warriors are targetted last almost always. There's no need to give yourself "awesome" buffs like shielding hands and the like. You should focus on damage dealing, not "tanking". Because in PvP, warriors don't tank.

True, which is why I like Warrior/Water Ele. Maybe the defences
aren't as high as earth Ele, ( even though the additional 94 armor
on top of my reagular armor is still very nice) but water also as
conjure frost which gives me the aditional +13 dmg. also when doing
HoH or GvG, I'll use conjure frost on my weapon to start, then I'll
use gladiator's defence ( so they help me kill themselves ), and
frozen burst to slow them down 66%.

I find water Ele is very well rounded up to do PvE or PvP.

W/R is not the greatest meat shield, but you can dish out massive amounts of damage in a short time. high hammer mastery + tiger's fury = a very, very quick death. you can also use DoT with poison, winnowing for extra damage, troll unguent/healing spring for healing... i was using a W/R build in PvP for a while, it was great for killing monks because you could dish out the damage significantly faster than they could heal themselves.
